I must thank you for the words of appreciation for the first Issue of JIPS in this year. The bouquets are well received and the brickbats (though I have not received any personally) taken with a pinch of constructive criticizm.

The H1N1 scare is currently full blown. The prudent thing for us to do would be to educate ourselves about - the disease process, virus spread and do's and don'ts. We must exercise sustained precaution and not panic or create panic amongst the public. One should also maintain a good level of fitness to improve immunity and resistance.

I would like to convey once again that the primary objective of the editorial team is to get the journal indexed with PubMed. For this we require articles of high research value which convey a new message. This, in our opinion, also encourages free thinking and motivation for research activities. We wish to see the results soon.

I would also like to express my appreciation of the tremendous interest shown by faculty and students in getting papers published. However, we have noticed that due to this over enthusiasm, several articles have been plagiarized from prominent textbooks and articles. Copyright laws are strict and such infringement can be met with legal action. Such articles will be rejected.

In my opinion, youngsters should look up to seniors in our specialty and in other walks of life as role models and try to emulate their positive deeds. Again, one need not imitate anyone but can inculcate positive values into their lives.

On behalf of the organizers of the 37 th IPS conference, I invite you to attend the conference at Trissur, Kerala. Please register early so that your trip can be well planned. Take Care. Stay in good health and high spirits!
