Introduction: Evidence-based dentistry (EBD) is an integration of dentist's clinical expertise, patients' needs and preferences, and the most current clinically relevant evidence for informed decision making in clinical practice. A cornerstone of EBD is the hierarchical system of classifying evidence, known as the levels of evidence. The review aims to categorize original studies published in the Journal of Indian Prosthodontic Society (JIPS) from 2005 to 2020 according to the levels of evidence as well as into animal & in-vitro studies and technique reports. The objective is to identify the number of randomized controlled trials (RCT's) published during this period, assess performance of Indian investigators and formulate recommendations for future research needs.
