Introduction: In current scenario, 3D-printing in dentistry is much expensive which makes it less accessible among dentists in the developing world. Aim: To build a Cost-effective 3D-printer Objective: To design an eco-friendly small foot print 3D printer working machine for the use in dentistry at low cost and to demonstrate the assembly of the printer with the methodology for fabricating prosthesis
Methodology: The design mainly works on CNC (Computer numeric control) system. Through this assembly, accurate printing is possible with the help of g-code programming, which instructs computerized machine print bed on where to move, how fast to move, and the high-definition UV led display, which will help in reducing moving parts, costs and to achieve precision ijn micron level. The high definition ultra-violet led display source, the photopolymer resins get polymerized which, in turn leads to the fabrication of dental prosthesis.
Result: Through the assembled 3D-printer, prototyping (additive method) of Photo polymerising resins 3D printing, dental labs can accurately and rapidly produce crowns, bridges, models and a range of orthodontic appliances.
Conclusion: This prototype has great potential for application in dentistry which helps to reduces the resin material wastage and the cost of 3D printing technology significantly.
